He recounts his adventures, from being held at gunpoint by a Texas rancher’s daughter to encountering rattlesnakes and being abandoned in a mine. Along the way, Lamarre transforms from a fresh college graduate to a respected geologist, contributing to America’s natural resources while exploring the geologic wonders of the western United States.

Albert Lamarre

Albert L. Lamarre got his first taste of exploring the wild outdoors while growing up in the mountains of rural New Hampshire. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in Geology from The University of Western Ontario. His exploration exploits took him to almost all of the western states and to Canada. His two daughters enjoyed the travels almost as much as he did. Now retired, Albert continues his exploration adventures as a world traveler with his wife, Janet. They live in Dublin, California.
